Jan 31 Part 1: Why Starcraft Is Ruining The Blog

k so todays blog is going to be done in two parts. its been like a week, so you guys need some blog. and ive got some stories. prepare.

Part 1: Why Starcraft Is Ruining The Blog

ill start with some introductions. stuff has been up lately. its pretty cool. schools in full swing, so blogging is getting really hard to do. i got a 75 on a large math test on wednesday, which is fucking FANTASTIC. granted, it was a super duper easy test, but still. like i would have killed for a 75 on stuff last semester. and this is the harder course too. i am confident that this trend will not continue, however. dr childs is an angry man, and he is going to WRECK us. including the exam, there are 5 tests, which means that he has plenty of time to build our hopes up then just squash them. guaranteed to happen.

guaranteed.

personally, there has been a lot of growth. usually when someone asks me what i do in my spare time at mac i say things like "not much" or "not blog" or "i dunno, something metal", but now its different. now its starcraft. my roomates and i play it friggin all of the time. like its suuuppppppeeerrrrrr fun. it kinda sucks tho. like its soo time consuming. most of the time what happens is that we cant connect to each other, so that takes like 10 mins to do, then we start a few games and someone ends up getting like rushed and killed, so we have to start another game, then once we do get one rolling it takes around 45 mins for it to actually end. then there are arguments about whether or not we should play more and etc like that. thats just an example. i get like nothing done anymore

its basically a huge waste of time. its fun. but its a waste of time.

ALSO youtube has started recommending that i watch starcraft videos. and who can say to no youtube. so theres a LOT of time wasted right there. those videos are about 20 mins each, which eats into my simpsons and other tv show time

so yeah thats cool. i spend like most of my spare time doing that or homework or something, usually not blogging. pretty fun

some more updates

i would like to give HUGE props to matt for jumping in on that flamewar that i was doing. that was super solid.

in case you guys are wondering how that ended, it didnt really. the dude posted something on my youtube like homepage thing about how i was a fag or something and he like took down the stuff that i tried to post on his page and he blocked me from contacting him. then i saw him replying to matts comments on the actual video that matt was a fag because hes canadaian and that his page has a picture of a lego dude. so i jumped back in and got ignored some. its over now. that was really gay.

there were waaayyyy less casualties than i had anticipated. oh well. ive got time, the internet is vast, it will probably happen again

oh also, on thursday i officially went and got my sweat on at the gym. im still sore. im not sure what that means, i did do the rave thing yesterday, but w.e, ill be super ripped in no time. ladies get in line now, save yourselves some time later.

also some general goodness for you, doug piper over at stuff and rabbits has restarted the blog. so check that shit out. go get some info on some youtube action. its really rockin.
http://stuffundrabbits.blogspot.com/
seriously check this one out.

cool so some tv news, then endings, then part 2

tv news. k so as i said earlier, starcraft videos are happening, but im trying to keep that one down. i just finished season 13 of the simpsons and ive been powering through the IT crowd. thats one that you guys should try to watch. if you havent done garth marenghis darkplace, do that first, but then do the IT crowd.
actually. do man to man with dean learner before doing the IT crowd. w.e.

anyways tho the IT crowd. fans of darkplace will notice some familiar faces on the IT crowd. notably, dean learner / thornton reed plays one of the leads maurice moss and todd rivers / lucien sanchez plays douglas, who comes in during the second season.

good show

songs
right now?: missing time - fredrik thorendals special defects
on deck?: a mix of physics homework and part of the post
too much?: straws pulled at random - meshuggah
new stuff?: one of meshuggahs top friends on myspace was a band called decapitated. theyre pretty sweet. im going to give them a second listen sometime soon

shout outs
i HAVE to shout out matt for this one. no question. probably the funniest thing that ive seen in a while was me checking on the position of the flamewar only to see that matt jumped in. i lold. really hard. good show

pretty solid

part 2: the shadiest steve has ever been part 2 will be up soon. i promise

metal

EDIT its 1:08 am ive got maybe a third of the part 2 done. will finish it and post tomorrow

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

EDIT a brief intermission READ ONE POST DOWN!

yeah so blogspot is really cool and my newest post is one post down right now. so just look one down. its good

Original Post
hey

yeah so its been a while.

so right now im actually in the process of writing the blog that would go up today, but it was really terrible. like im super tired and it just wasnt happening.

ill put one up tomorrow. trust me.

like seriously. it was really bad

brb

"dude you should have seen this chick. she was soooooooooo fat"

the wednesday blog take 2...3

yeah its wed...thurdsday...2:37am saturday (i still claim that its friday night tho)

*please note that this note has been written over the course of three days, so please forgive the fact that there are probably pounds of continuity errrors*

i really should be studying right now, but its been like a week since the last post.

kinda shitty, i know.

anyways

in case you guys are wondering i havent done a post in a while because i feel i need to give you guys critical updates about steve and things that steve is affiliated with and there just hasnt been that much up lately. like i would give you more posts, but i dont want the post to be like "its tuesday and today i spent the bulk of my time scratching my ass". like that might be good for one or two posts, but i really dont want my blog to get filled up with this stuff. that wouldnt be too great.

but yeah ill give you some news

as of like right now im in a house for next year. which is really solid. yeah its super awesome. like band house would have been amazing, but like really thinking about it, there was a moderately slim chance of it actually happening. next year things should be sorted out and all of that etc, but for now its cool. just a lot of jamming.

and jamming with my new band at mac. im definitely in a band here too. its really sweet. weve all been like jamming for a while, but weve only recently become an official band. its super sweet. umm no name yet. but im pretty sure that once it happens, it will be super badass.

yeah dude

speaking of music, i definitely went to bradford last weekend. did the fcthing, which was super sweet. i also finally saw inglorious basterds. which was super duper metal. thoroughly enjoyed it.

ummm but yeah this week. pretty cool.

test seasons coming up. thats not going to be cool. its friday night and theres a math super test on wednesday. i was going to do some studying tonight, but that turned into do some drinking and play halo then watch gamer and do a blog at 240am. pretty close tho

ALSO

MAJOR UPDATE

so i might be engaged in my first super gay youtube flamewar!

I KNOW, RIGHT?

so theres an extended intro to this story, you can skip to the main part if you want. ill have a little part down below that will tell you where to catch up

extended set up

here i am, browsing away on youtube, when what catches my eye? but a video that goes by the moniker "nintendocore". now as a nerd, i am immediately drawn in by the combination of nintendo and the core part of the title.

*digression*
the core part of the title. yeah. the suffix "-core". there are many definitions as to what this means, but heres the steve, high levels of awesome approved definition. the core part was originally a reference to the phrase "harcore", which was originally a reference to the hardcore punk stuff from way back in the day. keywords here are "punk", as in "(in the 70s / 80s ish)damn that band is really punk" or "those kids are punks, call their parents so they can come and get them" so yeah generally when you see something with a "-core" suffix on it, you can assume that there is going to be something punk about it.
the thing is that punk died off a loooonnnnnnnggggggggg time ago. and in its place is kids who skateboard and put their hair into emo flicks (hair scarves) and listen to emo music. which isnt punk at all. they also like their breakdowns. oh man do they like their breakdowns.

so like if you were to hear a song with a label like "metalcore" (which is a common term nowadays), you can expect to hear these things:
1. generally fast, aggressive playing (metal)
2. really gay emo parts (core)
3. really gay breakdowns (core)
4. lots of really gay emo singing (core)
5. things like pig squeals and stuff to that extent (core. people might say thats metal, but lets be serious here, it was kind of metal the first time you heard it, but now its just really stupid. you know. -core)

k yeah nintendocore.

going into this, i knew that it was a horrible call, but i still did it. maybe im just naive. maybe i was hoping that the "nintendo" part that was promised would save this probably bad song.

on the inside, i was really hoping that it would sound like the stuff from this link:
http://metroidmetal.bandcamp.com/
(i picked this up from a good pal doug ho. hes one of my followers. really solid. if hes got a blog, you should probably check it out)

no such luck.

heres the video.

it started off with just a picture of the band, because i assume that there isnt anyone around that would fund this (i know that 12 year olds WOULD fund it, but they dont have any money, so it doesnt matter).

also in case you guys are wondering this whole deal is band: sky eats airplanes, song: giants in the ocean. listen to it if you want. i wouldnt recommend it tho. like this way the video gets more hits and hearing this will make you want to drive a spoon into your ear. and thats never good

so here they are. just standing there. 5 dudes, all with hairscarves and their respective characters. theres
the sesitive one: with extra emo hair, and a look that says "i would love to hear about your day, just let me get this dude out of my bum first"
the feisty one: hes little, but im sure that hes talented and brings a lot of emoness to the band
the creepy one: will probably rape you, but its okay because the hair scarf makes him cute
the tough one: hes got tatoos, which make him tough, but that hairscarf strikes again. hes too cute to be tough
the other dude: looks like hes just there. they probably needed a dude to play bass or keyboard or something so that they look like a real band. real punk bands need 5 members. or he was someones little brother and that dudes parents told him that he needed to include him in the stuff that he does

the song:
it starts off with a synth intro-dealie. im going to be honest, i did NOT notice it the first time i heard it. i think it was facebooking or something to that extent and just figured that there was silence.
then there is one(1) bar of sweep pick / screamo / breakdown. then it went reaaaalllllyyyyy emo. and i turned it off.

so, because i do stuff like this, i wrote on the videos wall:
"i got to 0:18, then i had to stop it.
howd anybody else do?"

the video had only been rated 4 / 5 stars, so i figured id get some replies saying "lol yeah this is shit" or something to that extent. that was pretty much my best case scenario.

so today i get home from doing the liqour thing, and i hit the facebook, to see that i have a comment shared with me. i click it thinking that someone else found my comment mildly amusing, so i check it. instead, i read a comment, courtesy of some dude named muffinmystic that read "shut the fuck up". feelings hurt a tad, i responded, loling to myself
"did you not get that far?
i understand, its a pretty terrible song"

personally, i liked this comment, because what i meant was that he didnt believe that i got to the 18 second mark in one try. it made me lol.

so i was feeling pretty good. i figured that i shut down some dude who tried to troll me. but NO.

MAIN PART OF THE STORY (rejoin here if you skipped the start)

so i go to my my channel page of youtube, just because i was taking a detour around youtube to some other channels, when i saw this comment on my main wall. from mystic muffin that read
"Radiohead r gay wannbes who tried 2 start a new trend, and they're fags who sing soft gay music"

yeah. i dont get mad often. but there was QUITE a bit of rage in good ol steve at that point. like this punk (not the music def, the get their parents def) just wrote on my wall that radiohead "r gay wannabes". also they "tried to start a new trend", and "they're fags". like i had SO much rage right there. you dont really understand. like i cant really describe how much rage there was there. like everything was wrong about the post. it was nuts.

but i played this one cool. i replied on his wall
""
actually i cant really remember what i posted on his wall. and i cant go back and check, because he has to approve them first. ill give a detailed explanation of his profile later. its quite a sight

the jist of it was that i expected there to be a really stupid flame war soon and i was just getting the facts first, you know, he says hes metal, hes probably like 12-15, etc. just ground work. nothing yet. im playing this one cool. it will probably get rough tho.

thats it right now. its 341am. and im tired. this might get messy. but then again, super gay flame wars are usually messy.

so yeah.

ill keep you guys posted on how this progresses. im looking forward to it.

kcool.

some bed action now

songs
right now: futile bread machine - meshuggah. this is actually the "campfire version" of the song future breed machine. i really enjoy it. like theyre having some fun with some of the most brutal music that exists.
on deck: probably some more -core music. i know, but you have to be researched to be successful. fear not tho, an increase in -core stuff can only lead to an increase in good metal music. like i need to balance my system after

shout outs
lets do doug ho. because he provided that metroid metal link. also this one, which made me lol my balls off
http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/joseph-ducreux-archaic-rap
gg doug. g. g.

awesome.

that post was only a lot late.

ps. im pretty sure that the post will say that i post will say that i wrote this like 3 days ago, but im just finishing this at 350am on saturday (friday night). yeap. rockin

Friday, January 15, 2010

heading back to bradford

i would have felt bad if i just left you guys hangning.

ill get back to you tho, dont worry

super metal.

songs
right now: the simpsons where marge bans sugar from springfield
on deck: the bus after my econ class

good stuff

A very (adj) man (verb)ed into the (noun) with (proper noun)

jeeze

i got nothing right now.

like i would have posted something yesterday or the day before, but i just havent been in that blog writing groove. i dunno. sometimes the awesome strikes and sometimes it doesnt. its just the way she goes. today she probably wont. lets do this anyways tho. you guys look like you need it.

yeah

also you may have noticed the mad lib as / in the title. i wasnt really sure what to do, so i figure that id let you guys figure it out.

this also adds some replay value to the bolg, because when you guys come back the 8 or 9 times per day, you can read a new post every time! like the content might be the same, but the title is different, therefore, new post. its a pretty sick system.

word

so some steve news.

i guess i havent done a post in like a week. my bad people

k anyways

friday
i did the york thing with tori and her friends. it was a seriously rockin time. uhh we played this game called what, then like kings or whatever that drinking game is called, then angies and this party that one of toris friends had to go to because the dude hosting it was a TA or something along those lines. it was a commitment. anyways i actually had an epiphany or something to that extent. so the party was full of >25 year olds. like there was 5 people in our group and we were CLEARLY the youngest people there. i figured that the people were like 40, but i was later told that the average age was like 27 or so. it was really weird. i had a "this is what my life is going to look like in like 7 - 8 years" moment. and it was really depressing. like i dont really know how to say it. it was really really odd. like we just sorta stood there and i spent a good amount of time just staring at the people in the party. like people who OBVIOUSLY werent the age acting like they were like 18. like i want to say i hope im cooler than that when im that old, but i dont really know. like by then the band will have taken off and ill have legions of fans and groupies to tell me how cool i am, but on the inside i wouldnt be sure. it was rough. still a good time, DO NOT get me wrong, it was a great night. a little scary, but great.

anyways the key point from that paragraph is that you should appreciate your age. ive seen the alternative. its saggy. and it has a surprising amount of pimples.

then 2am chicken wings. deeeeericious.

saturday
its 3am. after completeting a long night of party goodness, you retire to toris couch for some sleep

its 7am. awesome man lets hit the road. tori had to do some teaching in bford at 9am. goooooood times.

its 715am. its friggin cold outside and youre asleep at the bustop at york university en route to the hammer.
transit actually worked out really really well. i only waited like 5 minutes for a bus to the subway, i didnt have to wait for a subway and i just walked onto the hamilton go bus. it was really really nice.

its ~10am. you cant decide whether or not you want to walk back to res from the highway 403 exit on mainstreet, or walk to jackson square from the bus station and bus back to mac. you decide to walk. remember, you didnt bring your appropriate-for-the-weather winter coat, and opted for the exponentially more badass peacoat. its kinda warm, but it was seriously cold outside. seriously cold. like i went to the bathroom and it took me a couple of seconds to locate the steel baton of justice. it was rough

its 1030. you arrive in your room with a core body temperature approaching the freezing point and you are greeted by the pleasant aroma of a roommate who apparently had a good night. you decide that you are too tired to care about the smell of vomit and go to sleep
its hours later: you wake up...and. umm...complete your day. way to go!

successful mission

sunday - today
not really that much went on. school. quite a bit of it. umm i went to the library for the first and second times ever. its actually pretty solid. like i just went and did some work by myself. its a pretty neat concept. they should try putting these libaries in other locations, they might help students out, or make communities better overall.
hmmmmm

also i watched a lot (meaning the whole series) of garth marenghis darkplace. its this super, super dry british show that has definitely become one of my favourite shows ever (dont worry, i still know and maintain that the simpsons is the best (AND im still getting through the whole series, dont worry (FF i started season 13 yesterday)))

some quick facts about the show
- it rocks
- i cant really explain the premise of the show right now, its getting kinda late. but trust me, its a good time
- the whole series is only 6 episodes. that part sucks a lot. but w.e it still rocks
- fans of the IT crowd will be really pleased to see who plays dean learner (the best character anyways)
- dean learner also has his own spinoff: man to man with dean leaner. i will be getting to that shortly
- also dean learner is my current msn picture. so check that out if youre on the net.
- the whole series is on youtube. i recommend watching it right after you finish reading this post and after youve reread all of the other posts, just so you can be reminded of how awesome stuff can be sometimes.

i also watched some like major league starcraft stuff. that shit is terrifying. im TERRIBLE at that game.

ALSO
did some epic jamming with people from around whidden / campus. we might do battle of the bands, which would be super sweet. theres a video of us doing the OC theme song on facebook. and you can rest assured that the stuff we play the battle of the bands will be the same, if not better, quality. suuupppppeeeerrrrr epic

kcool. ima do the bed thing soon.

songs
right now?: the slow wait part 2 - the american dollar. suuupppppeeeerrrrr solid. did you guys check the band last time? you should have
www.myspace.com/americandollarband
theyre coming to canada in like april or june. be there
on deck?: the newest episode of the big bang theory. its hard to bolg and watch it at the same time. its next for steve

shout outs
hmmm. ill do the hardworking people over at 680 news. you guys can trust me, this shout has nothing to do with the fact that i just got an email from 680 and i have no idea who else to shout out. its because they offer great news with traffic and weather together on the ones, or anytime at 680news.com

sure

NEW SEGMENT!
so ive decided to start putting in some playlists. this is an extra credit part of the bolg. if this is your first visit here, you can skip over this part, it might be too much awesome for you in one sitting. you could pull something.
but yeah im going to start putting these in every once in a while. i dunno, it might help you get into the steve kind of mindset

here we go

ps if you do decide to try the playlist out, it is HIGHLY recommended that you listen to all of them at once; the list was made the way it is so that the songs flow into each other. a lot of the time the bulk of the song doesnt matter, its how the songs start / stop. but theyre good songs. thats why theyre on my ipod. lol

Steve Authorized Playlist #1: First Trip To Thode <-- the library
1. Kinetic - Radiohead - Pyramid Song EP
2. Rational Gaze - Meshuggah - Nothing REMASTERED / ReRELEASE / NOT the original one
3. Obstacle 1 - Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
4. Heart Of The City - The Arkells - Jackson Square
5. Ducks Crossing Take 2 - FCG - Super Rough, Super Groove --> check www.myspace.com/freshlycutgrassexperience you should be able to download it
6. Construction Work - Rival Boys - Life Of Worry EP --> SUPER solid band. details on a different post. www.myspace.com/therivalboys i hope its there. if not just go to their show on jan 30th at lees palace and buy the cd. its really really good
7. An Honest Mistake - The Bravery - The Bravery
8. Idioteque - Radiohead - Kid A

FF it actually sort of circles around. it sounds alright if it goes back to kinetic from idioteque. sort of

kcool

so this post actually turned out pretty well. i really was not expecting it. thats just the way she goes some times.

heres my answer to the mad lib / title
yellow

word. post probably soon.

a different post

so word on the street is that the last post kinda sucked

or at least that what a certain dick (who shall remain nameless) told me *cough* it was definitely *cough* lois *cough cough cough*

sorry guys it seems that i have come down an internet cold.

anyways tho

yeah theres also been quite a gap from the last post. i dunno. its not like im doing very much, homework hasnt REALLY started piling up yet. not sure tho. its weird. like i hate telling myself that im going to write a blog right now. it makes my next chunk of time like way to structured. if that makes any sense.

w.e

some news. hmmmmm

well i got my hair cut. yeah you heard right.

its actually pretty rad right now. like its been a day and a half and im still fairly fond of it. which is actually really weird. like most of the time i leave really pissed off, then spend the next few days hating life then either get it recut or just stop going outside. but this is cool. it looks pretty good...ladies

yeah its really solid

in case anybodys wondering i got it cut at vinces, which is right near mac. and the friggin guy cut my hair with a razor blade. it was super metal*. it was like a razor in a little handle thing and the dude just cut the shit out of my hair. like it took him less time to cut my hair than it did for me to tell him how short i wanted it. it was nuts. it normally takes people at least half an hour. plus they usually weep for a bit before they start. this guy was alllll business

also also in case anybodys wondering my hair is NOT short. its shortER than it was before. like an inch and a halfish. not very many people have noticed.

so yeah

umm i guess im back to mac...i cant remember if i posted that already. umm its not THAT bad yet. like calculus will probably stick it so far in my bum that it will come out of my mouth, but the rest should be not too terrible. thats the plan anyways.

hmm not too much else is up

had a pretty solid jam with people from around the whidden area last night, that was really rockin. and im also like halfway through season 12 of the simpsons. just in case you were wondering

i feel like i need to make a comment on the world juniors thing. i guess that thats sort of news to people

hmmmmmmm

nope. i got nothing.

i heard that canadas the favourites to win tho. i hope that they do.
hows that?

anyways i need to do some bed action pretty soon. ill get to endinger

songs
right now?: starscapes - the american dollar. awwwww yeah. start listening to this band if you havent yet. like seriously. i love them
heres some youtube bubbles to help you out

i really hope these work

also a little ff for you, the second video is one of my favourite songs ever. just so you know. the videos okay, but the musics where its at

on deck?: missing time - fredrik thordendal's special defects. its meshuggahs lead guitarists solo project. i really like it. its not QUITE what you would expect
too much?: this spiteful snake - meshuggah. i havent really been listening to it too much, but ive had it stuck in my head for like the past week. its really rockin

shout outs
ill shout out carol here. because she (rather tastefully) pointed out that the last post sucked. so if theres anyone that has an opinion on that, or is wondering how i spent the last five years, you can take it up with her.
im also going to shout out my back. that might sound strange, but i have to give it credit. like im a fairly tall guy and i have pretty bad posture, i sit horribly in chairs and i cant imagine that drumming is doing very much to help it out. and its keeping up. so yeah shout out to the back.

I liked it

anways

come back 8 or 9 times every day until i do another post. then keep coming back 8 or 9 times a day

yeap

*yup it was metal. i know most of the time you think that razors are emo, you know, because emos. but theyre actually really metal, emos just wrecked them. like breakdowns. SOME breakdowns arent super super gay**.

**but most are, lets not go kidding ourselves here

decade in review part 1

so i guess its 2010 right now. pretty solid

yeah so way to not do a post in a couple of days. well i posted that i would do a post for every day of the holidays and the holidays are over now, so its okay. logic.

anyways

so heres a few steve updates, just in case youre wondering.

im back in the whidden right now. its pretty solid. i was supposed to be back sometime yesterday, but the weather was a tad on the not great side, so im here now. i actually ended up missing my first two classes, which rocked mildly hard. oh well, its not like i wont have like 987348975 more classes to make up for it. fml

umm im officially up to 5 followers now. so give a couple of thanks to doug ho for joining. as far as i know he doesnt have a blog, so kudos to him.

right on.

so i know im a little late on this, but here is my "i have a blog, so i need to do some sort of review of what i thought of the last x amount of time". so ill do a bit of review of what i can remember about the last 10 or so years.

id also like to point out that im currently watching the simpsons, so that might affect what im writing a bit. probably.

also when i say "top whatever" it means "what i spent most of my time listening to / watching / w.e

also ive decided to do this in 2 parts. this is actually a lot more work than i had anticipated.

kmetal

2000
top music: probably like bsb or *nsync. that or like californication by rhcp. or europop by eiffel 65...i probably still had blue in my system

top tv: probably like the simpsons. i really wasnt aware of south park or many other good shows...i can actually remember watching the episode of the simpsons that im watching now when it was a new episode. come to think of it, i watched malcolm in the middle a bit too. it was on right after the simpsons. hmmmmmmmm. a lot of pokemon / digimon / dbz as well. man that was a long time ago. probably others

top time wasters: pokemon silver. OMG sooooooooooooooooo good. i LOVE(d) this game. like i wasted so many hours on this thing

2001
music: i cant really remember what i was listening to here. probably the same stuff that i was listening to in like 2000. *nsync was cool. i swear to god

tv: hmmmm simpsons for sure. probably same stuff as 2000 again. i really cant remember much from being 11...action man? i liked that show. futurama too, if that show existed yet.

time wasters: deep into fart joke territory here. DEEEEPP into it. also perfect dark. kucharski, brad and i spent a lot of hours playing this. FACT: perfect dark is better than goldeneye

ALSO it turns out that the gamecube came out in 2001. which means super smash bros melee. it came out in december, but i still spent a lot of time playing it.

2002
music: rhcp - by the way. listened to this so many times. like ask my dad. we went on vacation and we listened to this SO many times. i love it.

tv: probably the same. i didnt really have very much variety. im pretty sure.
also family guy. i was pretty cool back then

time wasters: same thing. ssbm, perfect dark, farts. im pretty sure.
also a lot of warhammer 40k. eldar is where its at yo.
lol also heroclix...those might have started later, but you know, they were (kinda) fun.
gba came out sometime around there. i did a lot of that stuff
some cel damage and timesplitters as well. good games

2003
music: this is probably where i started listening to the edge (and the ongoing history of new music), which meant that i was cooler than everyone else. so like nirvana, green day, probably oasis. you know, all of the cool bands that definitely arent overrated at all. AT ALL.
good music: i did learn about radiohead from the edge tho. they actually rock. like i purchased the bends and i might be wrong: live, thinking that one of those was hail to the thief (the album with myxomatosis).

tv: family guy, simpsons, (maybe) south park? im not really sure if i did that show yet.

other: same games probably. toss in some metroid prime, pokemon puzzle league, advance wars, etcs

2004
music: same as before. you know, all of the cool music that terrible at all.
PLUS i think thats when youre a woman im a machine came out. thats definitely a solid cd. i dunno i basically just copied whatever the edge was playing. billy talent, alexisonfire, finger eleven, marble index, etc. those were the good bands. but yeah i like the bands that i now know are terrible. like green day. i didnt really think for myself very much. i wasnt into emo tho. dont worry about that
i actually did my first concert in 2004: edgefest 2004. it actually rocked...we didnt stay for good charlotte

tv: simpsons, family guy came back, so i did that a lot, probably south park. i think that that was when spongebob and fairly odd parents came out, so i did that a lot. maybe others.

other: other stuff. cant remember what 2004 looked like in games. soul calibur 2? good stuff.

that was kinda brutal.

part 2 to come soon

all right.

so heres the lists.

songs
right now: some simpsons
on deck: Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. this british show that doug showed me. its really funny.
